Herzlich Willkommen auf Peles-Pleasure
Pele, according to an ancient Hawaiian belief, is the goddess of volcanoes and thus the sole ruler of the Big Island. Even today, people heed her voice in earnest. After all, it is Pele who provides the islanders with the mild tropical climate, with palm beaches and water, but overall with the Spirit of Aloha that permeates the whole island.
The island of eternal summer has considerably more to offer, though: fascinating volcanoes, snow on Mauna Kea, lush rainforests, deserts and also, some distance from the well-known beaches, secluded bays that will satisfy any of your wishes if you are longing for an island holiday.
Why not spend the best time of the year on this island of perpetual summer, in a private residence or apartment off the beaten track? Experience Hawaii - a small group of friends on Hawaii/Big Island offers you every opportunity.
All but two of the holiday offers are located in Waikaloa Village, a small town at the base of Mauna Kea (4205 m/13800 ft). This town is renowned for its manageable size, its cleanliness and the best climate on Hawaii. A constant trade wind, steadily blowing from the northeast, prevents oppressively humid air. Air conditioning is not required. Rainy days are very rare.
Directly downtown, nestled between Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa volcanos on either side, and looking out over the Pacific to Maui, Robert Jones jr. created a beautiful 18-Hole Championship Golfcourse, where our guests are invited to play at a special low green fee.
The shopping mall at the town entrance offers every amenity, including a supermarket, drugstore, doctors, banks etc. The nicest beaches, for example the Mauna Kea beach pictured here, and other golfcourses of Big Island are within easy driving distance.
From here, you will enjoy the spectacular mountain panorama of the Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa volcanoes as well as the view towards the Kohala mountain range and the Hualalai at Kona, plus the view of the Pacific Ocean coastline with the neighboring island of Maui in the distance.
Watching the tropical sunset over the Pacific Ocean, as seen from the house terraces, was a unique experience for every guest so far.
